Dust covers are protections applied to cylinders that allow the rod to be isolated from dirt and external agents, preserving it and keeping it intact. In fact, dents, rust or scraping of the chrome plating on the surface of the rod can ruin the sealing gaskets over time and promote oil leaks and the malfunction of the cylinder itself. The dust covers are of two categories: either bellows/accordion or long, smooth, rigid.
