Coils

The coils, also called electromagnet or solenoid, are placed on top of each valve cartridge and the combination of the two components is called a solenoid valve. In the tail lift they are present in different points: in the control unit, in the cylinders, next to the hydraulic motors of the retractable tail lifts, etc. They are excited by the operator's use of tail lift control systems and received the electrical impulse, magnetically move a slider in the valve cartridge that they wrap around and allow the passage of the oil flow. The coils can be squared or rounded, the most common are from 40 to 50 mm long and have the diameter of the internal hole ranging from 13 to 20 mm. The electrical connections on the coils can be with integrated electrical cable or wires, or with Kostal (2 round pins), Hirschmann or DIN connections (3 tabs) and also with a connection called AMP (2 tabs). Kostal connection solenoids exist with two connection threads M24 and M27. The M24 thread is used by Dhollandia and Elefantcar while the M27 is used by all other manufacturers. Obviously, being an electrical part, each coil can be 12 or 24 Vdc.
