In this category you will find all types of springs, both mechanical such as compression springs or fork springs or torsion springs, but also gas springs or cylinders that do not work with oil, but are preloaded with pressurized gas. The springs in the tail lifts are used in most cases for 3 functions. The first is that of help and assistance in opening the platform in the retractable sides. Whether or not a spring or torsion bar, it really makes a big difference. The effort for the operation to be carried out is reduced enormously, so much so that sometimes it only takes two fingers to move and overturn considerable weights.

Obviously, this operation simplifies the activity even for people who are not very gifted and in any case protects everyone from risks and muscle and back pain. Depending on the manufacturer, this is supported by mechanical torsion bars/springs or gas springs. The second use of gas springs is always done for the same principle of lightening the effort, applying them to the aluminum flaps that are present every time a side is mounted without the doors of the van being present. In these cases, the platform covers a portion of the rear hole of the van and the flap completes the infill. It usually opens upwards like the rear doors of cars and with the same principle and operation they also help the flap to rise. The springs are then used in all the roll stop systems on the platform, in fact each flap when unlocked is pushed upwards by these. There are also trolley stops in some of the flap release mechanisms.
